The Characteristics And Differences Of Various Kinds Of Casting

1., casting can be divided into gravity casting and pressure casting according to the pouring process of molten metal. Gravity casting is the process of casting liquid metal under the gravity of the earth, also known as casting. The generalized gravity casting includes sand mold casting, metal mold casting, investment casting, clay mold casting, etc. narrow sense gravity casting refers to metal mold casting. Pressure casting is the process of casting metal mold under other external forces (without gravity). The generalized pressure casting includes pressure casting and vacuum casting, low pressure casting, centrifugal casting, and so on, and the metal type pressure casting of narrow pressure casting special pressure casting machine, called die casting. Xudong precision casting factory engaged in sand mold and metal mold gravity casting. These casting processes are the most commonly used and the lowest price in the nonferrous metal casting at present.

2. sand mold casting is a traditional casting process with sand as the main molding material. Sand casting is usually made by gravity casting. Low pressure casting and centrifugal casting can also be used when special requirements are applied.  Sand casting wide adaptability, large and small, simple, complex parts, single and mass are used. Sand casting mould, formerly made of wood, as wood. In order to change the deformable and easy damage of the wood model, the precision casting factory of Xudong is changed to the aluminum alloy die or resin die with a long service life except for the sand castings produced in the single piece. Though the price has been raised, it is still much cheaper than the mould used for metal mold casting, especially in small batch and large piece production. In addition, the sand mold has higher refractoriness than the metal mold, so this technology is also applied more frequently, such as copper alloy and black metal. However, sand casting also has some shortcomings: because each sand mold can only be poured once, and the casting mould is damaged after the casting is damaged, it must be remodeled, so the production efficiency of sand casting is low; and because the overall quality of the sand is soft and porous, the casting parts of sand casting have low precision and rough surface. . However, the accumulation of technology for many years in the precision casting factory of Xudong has greatly improved the surface condition of the sand casting, which can be compared with the metal type casting.

3., metal mold casting is a modern technology for making hollow mould for casting with heat resistant alloy steel. The metal mold can be either gravity cast or pressure cast. The mold of metal mold can be used repeatedly. Once casting metal liquid, a casting is obtained, which has a long life and high production efficiency. Metal castings are not only of good dimensional accuracy and smooth surface, but also in the case of the same metal liquid, the strength of the castings is higher than that of the sand mold, and it is more difficult to damage. Therefore, in mass production of medium and small castings of non-ferrous metals, as long as the melting point of castings is not too high, metal mold casting is generally preferred.

4. die casting is a metal mold pressure casting on die casting machine. It is the most efficient casting process at present.  Die casting machine is divided into two parts: hot chamber die casting machine and cold chamber die casting machine. The heat chamber die casting machine has high automation, less material loss and higher production efficiency than the cold chamber diecasting machine, but it is restricted by the heat resistance of the machine parts. At present, it can only be used for the production of low melting point materials such as zinc alloy and magnesium alloy. Nowadays aluminum alloy die castings widely used can only be produced on cold chamber die casting machine due to their high melting point. The main feature of the die casting is that the metal liquid fills the cavity under high pressure and high speed, forming and solidifying under high pressure. The inadequacies of the die casting parts are that the air in the cavity is inevitably wrapped in the casting cavity and formed under the subcutaneous cavity in the process of filling the cavity under high pressure and high speed. So the aluminum alloy die casting is made. It is not suitable for heat treatment. Zinc alloy die castings should not be sprayed on surface (but can be sprayed).
